Baked 3 Packet Pot Roast
Ingredients:
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Chuck roast | 1 (3–4 pounds) |
| Ranch dressing mix | 1 packet |
| Italian dressing mix | 1 packet |
| Brown gravy mix | 1 packet |
| Water or beef broth | 1 cup |
| Olive oil | 2 tablespoons |
| Large carrots, peeled and cut into chunks | 4–5 |
| Medium potatoes, peeled and quartered | 5–6 |
| Large onion, quartered | 1 |
| Salt and pepper | To taste |
Instructions
1. Preheat and Sear the Roast
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper, then sear it for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the roast and set aside.
2. Add the Vegetables
Add the carrots, potatoes, and onion to the pot, stirring briefly to coat them with the remaining oil. Place the seared roast on top of the vegetables.
3. Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the ranch, Italian, and brown gravy packets with the water or beef broth, stirring until smooth.
4. Combine and Bake
Pour the sauce over the roast and vegetables. Cover the pot with a lid or aluminum foil and bake for 3–4 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
5. Serve
Spoon the savory gravy over the roast and vegetables, and serve warm.
