A Love Story for the Ages: 106-Year-Old Becomes the Oldest Bride

Valdemira “Valda” Rodrigues de Oliveira has shown the world that love truly has no age limit. At 106 years old, she has become the world’s oldest bride, celebrating her engagement to 66-year-old Aparecido “Jaco” Dias Jacob. Despite their 40-year age difference, their story is a beautiful example of finding love and companionship later in life.

A Story of True Connection

Their incredible journey began three years ago when they met at a nursing home in Brazil. They quickly became inseparable, forming a deep and meaningful bond. Valda and Jaco’s feelings for each other are clear and strong.

“I fell in love with him. I like him a lot. If he dies, I die too,” Valda shared about her feelings for Jaco.

Jaco feels the exact same way about her. “I fell in love with Valda the moment I saw her. She makes me really happy,” he said. Their connection is a testament to the fact that love is about a person’s heart and not their age.

Overcoming Challenges for Love

While doctors were concerned about potential health risks and advised against a wedding, the couple’s desire to be together was too strong to be stopped. With the kind help of a volunteer group called Project of Dreams, their nursing home planned a beautiful engagement party to celebrate their love.

The event was a grand success, filled with joy and happiness. More than 150 guests attended, and a live band played music while everyone enjoyed a beautiful four-tier cake. It was a truly unforgettable night for everyone involved.

A Night of Celebration and Commitment

For the party, Valda was dressed in a soft gray dress with pearls, and her hair and makeup were done perfectly. Jaco looked handsome in a suit and tie. They exchanged rings and made a promise to be loyal to each other forever. The room was filled with cheers and applause as they celebrated their love. The night ended with a loving kiss, showing a commitment that goes deeper than any legal paperwork.

Even though a formal wedding ceremony may not be possible, the couple sees their engagement as a very important step. “I would have loved to wash Jaco’s clothes, cook his meals, and take care of him like a wife,” Valda shared, showing her deep desire to care for her partner.

Jaco explained that their engagement is a big step forward. “I asked her to marry me, and we always believed it would happen. But getting engaged is a step forward for us right now,” he added.

Their love story is a wonderful reminder that it’s never too late to find happiness and a deep connection with another person. Valda and Jaco’s story shows us that true love is the real prize, and everything else is just extra.
