  1. Cream the base: In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter, 2 cups sugar, and eggs until smooth.
  2. Make the batter: Add buttermilk, flour, and baking soda. Stir until fully combined.
  3. Prepare the pans: Grease two loaf pans and pour in half of the batter into each pan.
  4. Make the cinnamon mixture: In a small bowl, combine 2/3 cup sugar with 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
  5. Layer and swirl: Sprinkle 3/4 of the cinnamon mixture over the batter. Add the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon mixture. Use a knife to gently swirl for a marbled effect.
  6. Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the loaves cool in the pans for 20 minutes before removing. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
