Classic Sugar Snails

These sweet breakfast rolls are made by flattening white bread, spreading it with a creamy, sweetened cream cheese filling, then rolling it up like little snails. They’re brushed with butter, topped with cinnamon sugar, and baked until warm and golden.

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
Step 2: Prepare the Bread
Trim crusts from the bread slices and discard or save for another use.
Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice.
Step 3: Make the Filling
In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
Add the egg and ¼ cup of the sugar, mixing until fully combined.
Step 4: Assemble the Rolls
Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture over each flattened slice.
Roll up tightly, then cut each roll in half or thirds.
Place rolls seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
Step 5: Add Topping & Bake
Brush rolls generously with melted butter.
Mix the remaining ½ cup sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the rolls.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until lightly golden. Serve warm.
