These Cheddar Herb Biscuits are tender, flaky, and full of flavor thanks to sharp cheddar, fresh chives, and parsley. They’re an ideal accompaniment to soups or dinner.

Oven-Baked Cheddar Herb Biscuits
Ingredients:

  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups
  • Baking powder – 1 tbsp
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Garlic powder – ¼ tsp
  • Cold unsalted butter, cubed – ¼ cup
  • Shredded sharp cheddar cheese – 1 cup
  • Chopped fresh chives – 1 tbsp
  • Chopped fresh parsley – 1 tbsp
  • Buttermilk – ¾ cup

Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare – Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.

Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients – In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder.

Step 3: Incorporate Butter – Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4: Add Cheese and Herbs – Stir in the cheddar, chives, and parsley, making sure they are evenly distributed.

Step 5: Mix in Buttermilk – Slowly add the buttermilk, mixing gently until the dough just comes together. Avoid over-mixing.

Step 6: Shape the Biscuits – Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead gently a few times, and roll or pat to about 1-inch thickness. Cut out biscuits with a round cutter.

Step 7: Bake – Place biscuits on the prepared sheet close together and bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.

Step 8: Serve – Let cool slightly and enjoy warm.
