This is my little secret for making sure my husband’s always in a great mood – he’s obsessed with it.

These Baked Apple Fritters are a healthier, less-messy alternative to the deep-fried classic. Filled with chunks of tender apple and a warm blend of spices, these fluffy fritters are baked to golden perfection. A simple, sweet vanilla glaze is drizzled over the top, making this a perfect treat for breakfast, brunch, or a delicious snack.

Baked Apple Fritters

Ingredients:

For the Fritters:
Ingredient Quantity
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Granulated sugar ¼ cup
Baking powder 1 tablespoon
Salt ½ teaspoon
Ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons
Whole milk ½ cup
Large eggs 2
Vanilla extract 2 teaspoons
Diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) 2 cups
Melted butter 2 tablespoons
For the Glaze:
Ingredient Quantity
Powdered sugar 1 cup
Milk 2-3 tablespoons
Vanilla extract ½ teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Step 1: Prep & Preheat: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: Mix the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Step 3: Add Apples: Gently fold in the diced apples and melted butter until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  4. Step 4: Bake: Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping them into small mounds. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the fritters are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Step 5: Prepare Glaze: While the fritters are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
  6. Step 6: Glaze & Serve: Once the fritters are baked, allow them to cool for about 5 minutes before drizzling the glaze over them. Serve warm and enjoy.
